Taken at Tuggerah Lakes, a wetland system of three interconnected coastal lagoons, are located on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Photo taken with a Nikon D500 and a Tamron 150-600mm lens, early morning and settings were f7.1, 400mm, 1/1250 at ISO320.

Australian Pelican at Carnarvon Bay Tasmania. Pelicans are not so common in Tasmania as on the mainland. But the last couple of years some spend time on a private jetty in Carnarvon Bay (which is near Port Arthur on the Tasman Peninsula. They feel relatively safe there as one cannot walk too close to them and there is good feeding about.
They are one of my favourite birds and I spend some time photographing their habits and movements to capture their "personalities" in portrait style photos
