Brown Thornbill

This little bird landed in front of me as I was walking through a bush track walking home from the beach.  I quickly focused my camera and captured him before he flew off.  I was attracted by how the light fell on it's face.  Taken with a Sony a6000 with a 4.5-5.6 300mm G OSS Sony lens. Settings - f5,6, 1/500 sec and ISO 400. Taken at 300 mm.  I was lucky to capture him in that light as it was reasonably dark otherwise. Emerald Beach, NSW

The title of this page is brown thornbill, but the first two photos are not brown thornbills. The first is a brown honeyeater. The second may not even be a brown thornbill, as it has an orange gape flange, no yellow apparent on its body or tuft behind the eye.
