Was able to get within about 20 feet of this beautiful Forest Kingfisher when it flew into a tree in front of us. It sat there looking for its next meal, completely unfazed by our presence. Even when a man with a dog walked beneath the bird, it didn't fly away. So fortunate to get this close to such a pretty bird.

I was walking around the park in Strathpine, Brisbane birding when I noticed between the trees a Forest Kingfisher. I was lucky to get the one shot off before he took off. 5D4 100-400 L IS series I lens at 400mm 1/500 sec at f5.6 ISO1250.
