Little Shrike-thrush

This grey and pale cinnamon bird is often present in tropical gardens but can easily go unnoticed.  It has a pleasant song that alerts to its presence in thick undergrowth, vine thickets, rainforest, mangroves and swamps.  Otherwise, it is an unobtrusive bird that stays close to the ground in dense cover.  It can be surprisingly tame and allow close approach, nevertheless.

This juvenile twice found its way into my study.  Each time I caught it and sat it on a perch above the nearby bird bath.  It did not seem unduly stressed by that experience and sat there for a few moments while I took some photos.
