White-bellied Sea Eagle
A juvenile sea-eagle learning to hunt for prey in the wetlands. Canon 7D Mark 11, 300mm prime lens
A juvenile White-bellied Sea-eagle that is being ‘trained’ by adults in the wetlands. He has the most beautiful dark chocolate brown colours so I call him Mr Brown.
Photographer: Jacquie Gardner
This shot is of a breeding pair of White Belllied Sea Eagles. They were perched on a tree on a small island in Pittwater off Sorrell Tasmania. These birds are still listed as "threatened" in Tasmania, so it is always a thrill seeing one let alone a breeding pair.
The shot was taken at distance on a kayak with Nikon D7000 and 300mm focal length and cropped
apperture 5.3 and 1/2000 sec.
