This diminutive bird is more common than most people realise. It is a secretive little bird that stays low to the ground and frequents thick scrubby cover. Usually present as pairs and small family groups, it is the distinctive, metallic clicking call that draws attention to its location. They are inquisitive and will reward the patient observer by approaching closely, but discreetly.
