A pair of Black Swans (Cygnus atratus) reflecting on a pond. The Black Swan occurs in most of Australia except Cape York Peninsula far north Queensland. They mate for life in a monogamous pairing, raising one brood per season on a rough nest made on an island or floating reed bed. They feed on algae and water weed, plunging their long neck deep in the water to pick food. Mungarra Reserve, Petrie, Queensland, Australia.
