Oriental Cuckoo (Cuculus optatus). The Oriental Cuckoo visits the Australian Eastern seaboard during Winter as far south as Sydney, each bird regularly returning to the same site. Interestingly, they do not migrate to Australia to breed as most other Cuckoos do. You can see the similarity it has with the Pacific Baza, easily mistaken for the Baza by size and underbelly stripes and colouring. Anstead Bushland Reserve, Anstead, Queensland, Australia.
