Spangled Drongo (Dicrurus bracteatus). In this shot the distinctive long forked “fish” tail is clearly visible, as is the red eye. They feed mainly on insects caught on the wing in acrobatic manoeuvring. I find them to be quite vocal, sometimes with an amazing “electronic” sound, also some mimicry of other common birds in the area. They are aggressive to other species in their territory, regularly chasing away something I am trying to photograph much to my disdain. Oxley Creek Common, Rocklea, Queensland, Australia.
