This tiny bird (around 10cm) was creeping around the bark of this dead tree looking for insects in nooks and crannies, and found itself a tasty moth. It shook the life out of its quarry before quickly gulping it down (missed that shot). I think my favourite Aussie bird species I’ve seen yet, something about their upturned bill, eye ring, yellow feet and the way thy spiral downwards around the tree trunk that just appealed to me the first time I saw them.
